I’m Catherine. Women’s health coach, single mum, and someone who knows intimately what it feels like to carry everything quietly while falling apart on the inside.
I created Healing Her Softly because I kept meeting the same woman, over and over again.
She was exhausted. Overwhelmed. Juggling everything for everyone else. Dealing with health issues she couldn’t explain or get answers for. Drowning in conflicting information online. And doing all of it completely alone.
I knew her so well — because for a long time, that woman was me.

The Healing Her Journey
My Story
My relationship with health didn’t begin in a classroom. It began in my own body — and it was complicated from the start.
From a young age I became very aware of food, shaped by family experiences and an early understanding of how deeply what we eat can affect how we feel — physically and emotionally. Over time that awareness became something harder to carry. Food became less about nourishment and more about control. About managing something I didn’t yet understand - a learnt behavior around the misunderstanding of food.
As I moved into adulthood, my body began telling me something was wrong. Digestive issues that were dismissed. Symptoms I was told to manage or ignore. Years of feeling frustrated, unheard and deeply disconnected from my own body — not understanding why it felt like it was working against me.
It wasn’t until one of the most difficult periods of my life - my marriage broke down and not long after I experienced the devastating loss of someone very close to me — the result -
my health declined to a point I could no longer push through. Stress had taken hold in ways I hadn’t anticipated and my body and my mind finally said: enough.
I was later diagnosed with coeliac disease — an autoimmune condition that had been quietly damaging my gut and affecting everything from my energy and hormones to my mood and skin. Left unmanaged, coeliac disease can lead to serious complications. This diagnosis became my turning point.
I began to understand that health is not just about what we eat. It’s about how we live. How we respond to stress. How we support our nervous system. How everything — our gut, our hormones, our emotions, our relationships — is connected.
A few years later, I experienced another profound loss — and this time, the grief didn’t just break my heart. It broke my nervous system.
I began to recognise something I hadn’t had words for before: my body had been in survival mode for years. Always alert. Always braced. Never fully at rest.
I started researching, learning and slowly, gently, finding my way back. Breathwork. Journaling. Meditation. Reiki. Movement. Time in nature. Long walks. The simple, radical act of actually resting.
And something unexpected happened.
For the first time in my adult life — I discovered hobbies. Reading. Hiking. Road trips. Podcasts. Gardening. Learning for the joy of learning. I realised I had spent so many years so stressed, so depleted, that I had never had the capacity to simply enjoy my own life.
That realisation changed everything.
Why I Do This Work
For over a decade, I worked closely with women through my skincare business — seeing them daily, building real relationships, witnessing what was really going on beneath the surface.
What I kept seeing wasn’t just skin concerns. It was exhaustion. Hormonal chaos. Gut issues. Weight that wouldn’t shift. Anxiety carried quietly. Women who had been to their GP and been told everything was fine — and yet nothing felt fine.
They came to me for their skin. But what they needed went so much deeper.
I began to realise that in order to truly help women feel well and confident in themselves, I needed to go beyond what I could offer in a treatment room. I needed to support the root causes — the gut, the hormones, the nervous system, the lifestyle, the emotional load.
So I trained as a health coach. And Healing Her Softly was born.
My Approach Today
I’ve been intentionally on my own healing journey for the last three - four years. And I want to be honest with you — I don’t think we ever fully arrive. I don’t think healing is a destination.
It’s a practice. A commitment to understanding yourself more deeply, supporting your body more kindly, and choosing yourself — gently, consistently, over time.
That’s what I bring to every client I work with.
Not a perfect plan. Not a fixed programme that ignores who you actually are. But a real, personalised journey — built around your body, your life, and where you actually are right now.

“After over a decade working with women, I’ve seen just how connected our health, our hormones, our nervous system and our emotional lives really are. Real change doesn’t happen in isolation — it happens when we finally feel supported enough to stop just surviving and start actually living.”
